This webinar will explore the historical, cultural, and ideological origins of survivalism, which will allow us to better understand the linkages between survivalism and violent extremism, and more precisely to certain far-right extremist groups inspired by or adhering to this movement.

 
 
RESISTING HATE SPEECH AND CONSPIRACY THEORIES IN THE DAYS OF CORONAVIRUS

In this presentation, we will explore the issues of hate speech and conspiracy theories within the contexts of global crises, as well as take a look at how those discourses are displayed and diffused in the current Québec context. Finally, we will discuss good practices of information-seeking, and other ways of avoiding the diffusion of informations that are not only false, but also potentially harmful to many of our fellow citizens.
